Michal Tatarkiewicz was born on 12th March 1980 in Poznan, Poland. In 2006 he graduated from Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań (currently University of The Arts Poznan), with excellent mark in the Lithography Studio (prof. Stefan Ficner). Since 2007 he has been working as a lab assistant in the Offset Studio at the University of Arts in Poznan. In 2022 he was awarded a PhD. Dissertation title: “The poster is laughing”. His works were recognised and awarded at different competitions, i.a. Mention (poster) – Taiwan International Graphic Design Award (2023); Gold medal (section: JOKE and SATIRE) – International Exhibition SATYRYKON – Legnica (2023); Grand Prix of the Polish Poster Biennial in Katowice, Poland (2013);Third Place – International Biennial of Poster Bolivia ”BICeBe” (2013); Mention – International Exhibition SATYRYKON – Legnica, Poland (2013, 2006); Golden Bee Award – International Biennial of Graphic Design Moscow, Russia (2012); Nomination to Henkel Art Award in Vienna, Austria (2008).
